This project started with a friend reaching out with an idea, and it turned into a one-of-a-kind piece. 🪵🔥

Made from hard maple and completely hand-burned, this plaque was commissioned as a gratitude gift for Park University’s International Education Department from the 2026–2027 International Student Ambassadors. 🌎🎓

It’s always nice taking someone’s idea and turn it into something tangible that can be appreciated for years to come.

🪵 Third Quarter Recap! 🔨

Looking back at some of the projects I shared throughout July, August, and September! From a custom wedding card box to cutting boards, crosses, and other handmade pieces, it’s been another great quarter in the shop.

I appreciate everyone who has supported Mattivi Woodworks, followed along, and trusted me to bring their ideas to life. Every project is a little different, and that’s what makes custom woodworking so much fun!

A little experiment from the shop 👀

I’ve had this idea for a while and finally decided to give it a shot: a double-sided drink coaster with a different wood on each side.

One side is maple, the other is walnut. Two different looks, one coaster.

Not sure where this idea will go yet, but I’m pretty happy with how the first one turned out!

A little something different from the shop. 🪴

I wanted to keep these planters simple and let the natural character of the wood be the centerpiece. Each one has its own grain pattern, color, and character.

There’s something about combining natural wood with plants that just works.

From a pile of cut pieces to a finished piece of art. 🪵

Loads of glue, endless patience, and a whole lot of precision. Really excited about how this design turned out.

A little woodworking, a little customization, and a whole lot of meaning. 🤍

I built this custom co****le set as a wedding gift from my brother to his friends, adding a few personal touches to make it theirs.

Their last name and wedding date are featured on the boards, with angled stripes leading toward the hole to bring the design together. I also added built-in storage on the backside for the custom co****le bags.

A set made to celebrate their wedding day and hopefully provide plenty of games and memories for years to come! 🎯💍

A little woodworking project with a big day ahead 🤍

I was able to help build this custom card box for a friend’s sister’s upcoming wedding. They decided to take care of the finishing work themselves, which makes it even more exciting to see how it turns out.

Here’s a look at the build so far. I’ll be sharing more once it’s finished and making its debut at the wedding! 💍🪵

Some of my favorite projects are the ones that have a story behind them.

These two pieces were made for my cousins who traveled in for our family reunion: a custom cutting board made from cherry, walnut, and maple, and an Orthodox cross made from walnut with carved details.

It was a privilege to make something for family that they can take home and hopefully enjoy for years to come. ❤️

I meant to share these sooner, but better late than never.

For this year’s church fundraiser, I donated two custom shot glass trays featuring the word “Živeli” (cheers in Serbian), along with a set of maple and cherry Orthodox crosses.

Projects like these are always meaningful because they combine craftsmanship, faith, and community. It was an honor to contribute and support a fundraiser that helps bring people together.
