Why is this such a pretty section of the garden? There is lot of "design thought" that goes into an area like this. Take away the boulders and this becomes pretty boring. Texture of plants, blooming of the ajuga, elevation changes and on and on.
At the end of the day what makes this so nice is it's simplicity. !! 3 elements thats it !!

Notice this outdoor kitchen we designed. A lot of outdoor kitchens you see don't have a backsplash. We always add them in to our designs and often continue the backsplash around for the bar top. If the kitchen is in full sun we use a lighter colored granite for the counter top so it will stay cooler.
