The design process at Creative Plantscapes is very detailed with several meetings before the project starts to make sure all the necessary information is gathered. The customer will be very informed of what all will be involved with their project. The shown design is a very good representation of what the finished project will look like, and the finished project is shown in the following pictures. This project had many elevations to work with on the customer's steep hillside backyard area. Our hardscape and planting crews also worked very hard to get to the desired look. As Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturists, all 3 of Creative Plantscapes Landscape Designers are required to attend continuing education conferences. In Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturists are part of an elite group of approximately 150 certified horticulture professionals. Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturists are required to pass an intense exam and then are required to keep up with continuing education credits. This is the top certification that any horticulture professional can have in the state of Pennsylvania, beyond college degrees. It shows that they are willing to spend some time to keep up with the ever changing landscape industry. Pictured here from the PLNA (Pennsylvania Landscape Nursery Association) Conference are designers Scott Fohringer, Jeff Walizer, and Keane Scholl, along with Michael and Bonnie Dirr (author of The Manual of Woody Landsape Plants). They were able to get Michael and Bonnie to sign their well used college textbooks that are still referenced today!!

A goal of Creative Plantscapes is to inspire young school students into considering a career in the Landscape/Horticulture field. The designers are working on ways to speak to and encourage high school students. Also Pictured is Scott, Keane, and Jeff sharing some of their knowledge with a Horticulture class at Selinsgrove High School.

Our crews have been busy this season with many different projects. Here is one example of a natural water garden that we just finished. It included naturalized plantings and a pond/ waterfall, including aquatic plants and goldfish. We still have room on our schedule for a few more projects this season. Fall is a great time for planting or installing your hardscape so that it is ready for your enjoyment first thing in the spring. One sign of spring being here is when truckloads of plants start arriving!! Yesterday, we unloaded our first tractor trailer load of deciduous trees for the season, with many more to come. We are now scheduling for late summer and fall for planting and hardscape construction projects. Contact us today to begin the process of making your landscape dreams a reality!!

Creative Plantscapes was excited to hear the news about Belgard's Hardscape Hero Award for January 2025. This award is presented to a Hardscape installation company showing top notch design and craftsmanship skills. You may have seen this project in 2024. It was a full scale Labyrinth design for Rooke Chapel at Bucknell University. At the end of the year Belgard will pick the top monthly winner for the Belgard Hardscape Hero of the Year award.
