Conditions aren't too bad this morning, but there are definitely some areas that are slick so be careful. Be cognizant over the next week or so of ice sliding from the roof tops. Be mindful where you park and more importantly where you and your horse walk. The covered arena has a lot of ice/snow on it, and as the temps warm there will likely be some afternoons that some large sheets of ice slide off. Please do not walk around the areas that ice would fall from until the roofs are clear.
Stay safe and warm

Much the same this morning, but a bit warmer. Horses are out with lots of hay and all have access to water.
Will hope to finish up the waterer that broke over the weekend later this evening. Needed one more fitting that we didn't have and everyone was closed when we realized we didn't have one. That field has a trough full of water but we plan to get the automatic waterer installed this evening. Roads are much better, but there are some remaining slick spots. Be careful out there.

Sunday update
The sun is helping with water.
We were able to find the needed supplies to get the water line/waterer repaired so we will be working on that much of the afternoon.
The water to the farm should only be off a very short time and we will do our best to avoid inconvenience. The cumulative sub freezing temps are making things a bit tough but the sun is helping significantly today.
The state scraped and salted Military again late yesterday afternoon. It remains very slick but is improving. Be safe…stay warm
Looks like there are a couple days well above freezing in the next few days so we should get a bit of a reprieve.
Appreciate everyone’s patience

Similar story this morning. Horses all seem good. Plenty of available hay. We will make another round checking waterers mid morning to assure all have adequate access to water. For most part the roads in and around the farm remain a mess and unfortunately will likely not improve significantly until the middle of next week. Crews are working hard in the area but the ice and cold temps are making things difficult.
Sun is nice this morning

Overall things are good and the sun is helping. Horses are good. All have plenty of hay and water. One waterer was acting up this morning. Looked like it leaked much of the night but it is repaired (significantly cold playing into the water 7*😬)
Military Pike is still very very slick as are areas on the farm
We scraped last night in hopes of getting some melting today but it is slick nonetheless.
Be careful out there.

All good at the farm. Horses have extra hay and they all had access to water this morning. We will check water throughout the day given the temps as it will likely refreeze. The roads are slick across Lexington. If you are out, be careful. We will work this evening on cleaning up more around the barns, but we got around an inch of snow overnight so there now snow on top of yesterday's ice. Overall all good. Stay warm!

All is well at the farm so far. With that said, it is currently raining which brings a significant ice risk. Hopefully it will change back to snow. Road conditions on Military are less than ideal. We will work on cleaning the driveway and areas around barns but it will be later in the morning to avoid the rain making conditions slicker. Horses have plenty of hay and water.
Be safe, stay home as much as possible today.

I will update here throughout the day

Military pike is snow covered and pretty slick
The driveway and areas around the barns have been scraped. Main roads in and around Lexington seem to be mostly clear. Be careful if you are out

Military Pike has snow but it is passable. Road crews are working so i expect it to clear pretty quick We scraped the driveway and around the barns so getting into the farm shouldn’t be a big deal. Horses are out and have hay and water
Be careful out there and have a great day.
