A detached garage is technically "new construction" - it's building a new structure where nothing existed before. We don't consider it new construction, though.

Even detached structures like these have to talk to what's already there: the home & its current energy, the property's surroundings, the landscape & space we have to work with, existing utility conditions & locations, & more. For this kitchen remodel in historic Elmwood Park, rich design was incorporated into every single corner. One of our favorite, custom details? These recessed spice shelves right next to the range—no hunting through cabinets or drawers for the paprika mid-sauté.

There’s something refreshing about the first day of a new month, especially one that signals a season change is close. It always feels like fresh start, a time for transition - energy we try to bring to our projects here in Midlands.

Hard to pick a favorite detail in this primary bath/closet space we brought to life here in Lexington County, South Carolina. It's beautiful, yes...but it's also super practical. Plenty of room, connectivity between distinct spaces, & an energy that promotes decompression from the day. What changes would you make to your bathroom to move the needle?

A forever family home.

This home addition we got to bring to life with our clients in Lexington County houses a lot:

- A double car garage
- A primary suite
- A pantry
- A laundry room
- A FROG flex space
- An outdoor living space...
..and most importantly? The space this sweet family will call home for years to come. It's super cool we get to be involved in some of people's biggest life chapters.

Every time we look at this completed kitchen remodel, we see a new reason to appreciate it.

- The intentional placement of the dishwasher
- The adjacent pantry
- The floor-colored shoe molding
- The perfectly sized wall of cabinetry surrounding the fridge.....and that's just in the first photo.

Let’s be completely real: home remodeling & building can be a rollercoaster. We’d love to promise you absolute perfection, but the truth is, the process always brings a few surprises.

That’s exactly why we do things differently here at BCB. Our design-build process is specifically set up to take those familiar construction nightmares off the table. We “build” everything on paper before we do it in the field, from the project’s functional/aesthetic design, to the build strategy specifics, to the line-item budget, creating a significantly smoother process for our clients from start to finish.

Zooming in a little bit...🔍

Taking a moment to appreciate some small details in this primary bathroom remodel we completed in Lexington, SC last year. The small choices, like these brass plumbing fixtures & cabinetry hardware, are what give each space its personality, its depth. Crafting new spaces from old ones really is an art.
