A strong, long-lasting concrete driveway starts long before the concrete truck arrives.

Here’s what proper preparation looks like:

QUALITY GRAVEL BASE — A properly selected and installed aggregate base provides a stable foundation and helps with drainage.

PROPER GRADING & LEVELING — The base needs to be carefully graded and compacted so the driveway has the right elevation, slope, and support. Good preparation helps prevent settling and drainage problems.

REBAR PLACEMENT — Reinforcing steel provides added structural support to the concrete. It needs to be properly spaced and supported so it stays in the correct position during the pour—not simply laid on top of the gravel.

SOLID FORMS & PROPER LAYOUT — Straight, secure forms establish the driveway’s finished dimensions and help ensure the concrete is placed at the proper thickness and elevation.

The concrete you see is only part of the job. The preparation underneath it is what helps determine how that concrete performs for years to come.
