Founder's Day. 133 years ago J. D. Harper Sr. was born on December 6, 1885. He was a tinner in Lexington at the turn of the 20th Century and operated a tin shop at 720 W. Short St. for Payne and Beard Hardware, which sold furnaces. Jim made the duct work for them. He started Harper Roofing in 1916 and JIm's brother Rueben managed their furnace business. Happy Birthday Pa Jim!
