When we were approached by Graves Architects and Cathy Burgess Interiors last fall about a remodel at Lexington Country Club, we welcomed the challenge of completing a complex remodel in only two months, which was to be completed during their shutdown. Preplanning and great construction drawings enabled us to have materials ordered and contractors ready to mobilize. The administration and staff really made the work environment enjoyable and we were all able to address any potential issues that arose during construction. This remodel encompassed several areas of focus; new carpet throughout, refinished hardwood floors, new paint throughout, custom carpentry, custom 9 foot bi-fold doors, custom dining room ceiling trim, wallpaper, new LED lighting and devices, custom quartz tops and mantle surrounds, and several miscellaneous trim work details. Appreciate the opportunity.

When I first got started in construction, it was man, my father, who taught me what it means to be true to your word and don’t cut any corners. Those seem like simple things, but they’ve been instilled in me for as long as I can remember. I’ve always felt like the job was more than a number, but more of an opportunity to create something that exceeds all expectations. Sometimes it takes a myopic focus, that even hurts the bottom line, but end result will be worth it and create more opportunities. My dad taught me that, not by words, but by living it everyday for as long as I’ve known him. There wouldn’t be a SC Contracting, Inc without Dan Collett. We will continue to instill those values in our projects that’s he’s engrained in me. My dad passed away today. He is loved and will be missed.

Just completed this amazing office and complete building remodel. With the outstanding ownership group and the vision of Cathy Burgess Interiors, this job really turned out fantastic. Definitely, without question, one of the best commercial offices in Lexington. Longship really went above and beyond to provide a great atmosphere for their employees, including multiple break areas, a 2500 ft gym complete with locker rooms and multipurpose room to help decompress. We at SCC, are definitely proud of this one.

Making progress on the new Local Taco in Hamburg. A lot involved getting new overhead doors installed, but the dining room will feel like your eating outside with 10 9’ openings. Look for them to be open this fall.
