Google’s system for small business listings has become a labyrinth of bots and broken promises, especially for sole proprietors who just want control over their own name.

My goal now is to permanently delete my old Google Business profile (not repair or reclaim it). Who knows what I need to do to make that happen in the shortest, similar few steps?

Greetings ya'll,

I am gathering insight and information for a book project I am working on. I wanted to invite you to participate if you can make yourself available, and if applicable. Thanks in advance.

Which cartoons do you remember from your childhood? Which were your favorites?

To name a few, though definitely not all inclusive: G.I. Joe, Transformers, ThunderCats, or Spider-Man? Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony ‘n Friends, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and Jem and the Holograms?

Which cartoons did you watch that might fall into vulnerable category? For example, you were a tough warrior guy who watched an episode or two of Care Bears, or the All-American cheerleader who found value in He-Man?

How did cartoons shape you and mold you into who you became and/or who you are today?

Feel free to DM me if you don't wish to participate in the public comment section.

Thanks a bunch!

Wabi-Sabi America. Hey what do ya'll think about my Author Known project? I'm not mainstream like Lionel or Steven, Paula or Randy and such. I suppose I could be, I just don't know if yet 🤣.

Tag! Your it! OMG!!! That was a lot of intentional tagging! Every single one of you has shared some kind of space with me through the years. Some more than others, some we haven't even met in person and we still created something special!

Most of you know I am woodworker, handyman, and custom cabinetmaker, etc. Most of you have seen the completed projects I have shared over the years. Some of you have even called me and paid me top dollar to build something for you. Thank you for that. I am no longer doing that kind of work anymore 😔. Now I have channeled my creativity into a different skill and writing to share about it 💯. It's pretty fascinating and different and scary 😱 actually.

But I have a problem, a BIG problem. I don't even like using that word. I prefer "issue," rather than "problem." But I don't have just one issue, I have lots of them. Subscriptions, actually.

Do you ever feel like you are invading, imposing, or impostering when you use the tools the platform provides to reach your friends? I do.

Do you ever feel like you might get unfollowed, unfriended, canceled, ignored or deleted for sharing your work and advertising to your fan base? I do, I am that self-aware and self-conscious. It's quite painful. I understand ya'll have your own lives, your Jelly Rolls, your mainstream interests and all that.

Do you ever feel ineffective, afraid and broken when you work so hard, display your 🌭hotdog buffet gourmet 🧺 for the world to consume and nobody comes to your picnic? Even when there's beer🍺? 😮 I do. I work myself into such false frenzies I let them stop me from putting my best footsies forward. Even despite having already put my best out there and knowing ya'll love it!!!

That is what this Wabi-Sabi America project is about. It's book 2 of my book series. I didn't even intend for it to be a series! Anyway, here it is. It would mean a lot to me if I can share it with you all and feel your support. Well, more support anyway. 😁 I just want to know I've built something that lasts and that more people than just one of two can actually enjoy it, touch it, feel it...

Thank you being here with me.

One of the t-shirts I made during the years of my business activity. I was at Holiday World Splashin' Safari and this kid came up and said, "I love your shirt, where can I get one?" I took it off and gave it to him. Perfect shirt-off-my-back moment.

As a woodworker, pride is it's own thing, but relatable, I suppose. How about a few jokes about proud and the delicate art of working with wood.

- I'm proud like 1-inch protrusion on a windowsill.

- I made a table, but one leg was standing too proud.
Now it’s the most confident wobbly table you’ll ever meet.

- My chisel asked me if it was doing a good job.
I told it, “You should be proud—you really shave the day!”

- Why did the tenon feel superior to the mortise?
Because it always stood proud—even when things got tight.

- Why do woodworkers love making proud joints?
Because a little pride in your work never hurt anyone—unless you forget to clamp it!

My t-shirt favorite, "I'm so proud I still get to work with morningwood, the hardest wood grown to man."

All friend requests considered doesn't mean wrapped together in an Egyptian cotton package. It's the thought that counts.

Good day!

Patience and Perception: Bridging Expectations in Home Improvement and Social Media Marketing

Client perceptions and expectations in the home improvement industry are often rooted in an immediate desire for results, both in terms of marketing efforts and the services they seek. Many contractor clients approach social media marketing and home services with a transactional mindset, expecting fast, visible outcomes without recognizing the long-term processes involved. This stems from a lack of understanding about how trust and reputation are built over time, which ultimately culminated in relationship.

For marketing, it means clients may undervalue the importance of creating brand awareness and establishing a foundation of visibility before conversions begin to materialize. Similarly, in home improvement, contractors often expect instant gratification without fully considering the craftsmanship and attention to detail that lead to lasting results.

The disconnect lies in how both industries view success: contractors tend to measure it by immediate, tangible returns, while marketers understand that growth and trust are cumulative, relying on exposure, completed projects, and references. This highlights the importance of patience, communication, and education on both sides, helping clients shift their focus from instant gratification to long-term value.

To each their own, of course, this has been how I have view my past experience pertaining to the overall relationship I have experienced between my company and social media marketers. Overall, I think we all came out exactly where we wanted to be, if not better.

Project Idea

Have you ever been to a flea market, found a tool you never heard of, bought it, took it home, and figured out how to use it? I haven't. What if I did?

Swap meets, doors markets and peddler's malls call present some wonderful finds, especially in the days of them not making them like they used to.

"Thar's gold in them thar hills!"

Other names for peddler's malls and markets include:

1. Flea Markets

2. Swap Meets

3. Antique Malls

4. Thrift Markets

5. Bazaar Markets

6. Craft Fairs

7. Farmers’ Markets (if including crafts and goods beyond produce)

8. Consignment Shops (if items are resold for individual owners)

9. Junk Shops

10. Resale Markets

11. Trading Posts

12. Collectibles Markets

13. Vendor Malls

14. Curiosity Shops

15. Marketplace Emporiums

16. Pop-Up Shops (if temporary or seasonal)

17. Boutique Markets (if more upscale or curated)

18. Garage Sale Halls

19. Community Markets

20. General Stores (in some cases with diverse sellers)

These names often depend on the regional terminology and the type of goods or vibe of the market. Let me know if you'd like me to refine this list further.

Good day!
Ryan
