A couple recently completed projects. The first is a waterway that we did in Lincoln County. The landowner was having issues with ditches forming, and blowing out the ends of terraces. This should drastically help with the erosion problems he was having, not to mention making it easier to farm without the ditches to go around.

The second set of pictures is a pond that needed cleaned out in Osborne County. First of all there had been a leak in the damn for many years, so we dug till we found the leak and corked it off. Then proceeded to clean out many years of sediment that had silted in. Overall we dug out between 4-7' of sediment that had collected. This will greatly improve the capacity of the pond (if it ever rains again).

Recently completed this tree clearing project in Ottawa County. It was a 30 acre pasture, roughly 40% was very dense and overgrown with cedars that hadn't been touched in over 50 years. With the completion of this project it opened up the pasture tremendously which will result in more grass and nutrients in the soil.

Last week was definitely a scorcher, but it worked out good to dry the fields up so we could roll some dirt. Spent the majority of the week dressing up terraces, filling washouts, and slicking up driveways. The land owner was having problems with shallow terraces and poor drainage causing water to run over the top during periods of heavy rain fall. We came in filled in the washed out terraces and got the water draining correctly to prevent further erosion issues.

Eastern Redcedar Invasion into Prairies. Stop the Spread!

The first targets should be adult females and small trees.

Each female tree produces thousands of seeds.
Adult females are blue-green from a distance due to berry-like cones that are blue.
Adult males are brown from a distance due to the small and scaly cones.

Trees can produce seeds at 6 years old, control before they start.
A pasture in 2014 had scattered small trees. Within 5 years, the 2019 image shows visible cedar cover.
