Patio build in progress right now.
This part never makes the highlight reel, but it's most of the job. Before a single paver goes down there's digging out the grade, compacting the base, then screeding the bedding layer flat with a board and string lines. Flat, but not level on purpose. The whole surface gets a slight pitch so rain runs off the patio instead of sitting on it or heading toward the house.

Another backyard buttoned up! 🌿

This one was about more than looks — the space needed to handle water the right way.
Here's what went into it:
• A clean retaining wall to frame everything and hold grade

• A drainage system graded in so water moves away instead of pooling up

• 11,500 lbs — nearly 6 tons — of rock hauled and spread to finish it into a low-maintenance "garden" they won't be fighting every weekend

The drainage is the part you'll never see a year from now — and that's exactly the point. Get it right under the surface, and the top takes care of itself.

Another one wrapped up here in Lincoln. 🌳

This corner was a sloped, awkward patch that wasn't doing the yard any favors. We built a curved retaining block wall with tiered step-downs to hold the grade, then filled the bed with decorative river rock and clean-edged the whole thing.

The result? A low-maintenance feature that frames the mature trees and turns dead space into something that actually looks intentional. No more mowing a hillside, no more erosion.

This Lincoln backyard went from a hard-packed pool area to a full sod install in one day. Heads up if you're new to sod — brand new rolls always show seams and a little color variation between cuts. That's totally normal. With consistent watering over the next 2–3 weeks, the roots knit together and those lines disappear into one solid carpet of grass.
