We came back to this recently completed shop and transformed the concrete with a full decorative flake coating.

This 40x40x14 shop features white walls with black roof panels and trim, a 40x25 roof extension, and two 12x12 overhead doors. It offers plenty of enclosed workspace with a large covered area for added versatility.

This shop was recently completed in Joaquin, Texas!

This 40x50x14 shop features Ash Gray roof and wall panels with Charcoal trim, two overhead doors, an insulated interior, and a covered area for additional usable space.

☀️ Concrete Tip for Extreme Heat

Hot weather can cause a freshly poured concrete slab to lose moisture too quickly, increasing the risk of surface cracking and affecting proper curing.

Once the concrete has been finished and the surface is hard enough, keeping the slab consistently damp with a light sprinkler or mist can help retain moisture and allow the concrete to cure properly.

The key is consistency. Avoid letting the slab repeatedly dry out and then soaking it again.

Proper curing during the first several days can make a big difference in the long term strength, durability, and appearance of your concrete.

One of the most common things we hear after someone builds a shop is:

“I wish I had made it bigger.”

But size isn’t the only thing that matters. You also need to consider the functionality and everyday use of your building.

Where will you store your equipment now, and what might you add in the future? What is the easiest way to move vehicles and equipment in and out? Where should your doors, work areas and storage be placed so the entire space flows the way you need it to?

This build is a great example of using the layout to create a unique, functional space designed around the customer’s needs.

A well-planned building should do more than give you extra room. It should make your work easier every day.
