Southwest Heat & Air is here to help with all of your HVAC needs!

Here’s a perfect example of why regular maintenance is so important. This system stopped cooling in the middle of the day because a clogged condensate drain triggered the float switch, shutting the system down to help prevent water damage.

We cleared the drain using nitrogen, verified proper drainage, and got the system back up and running. Another happy customer with cool air again!

If your AC suddenly stops working, don’t wait—give Southwest Heat & Air a call. We’re ready to keep your home comfortable all summer long!

⚠️ ‼️ w🌡️ Extreme Heat Reminder from Southwest Heat & Air ❄️

We’ve been receiving a lot of calls from customers saying their air conditioner isn’t keeping up during this extreme heat. We understand how frustrating it can be, but when temperatures climb into the upper 90s and 100s, your AC system is working as hard as it can.

It’s also important to make sure your air filter is clean. A dirty or clogged filter restricts airflow, which can cause your system to freeze up, leading to poor performance and unnecessary service calls. Replacing your filter regularly is one of the easiest ways to keep your system running efficiently.

Here are a few tips to help your AC perform its best during this heat wave:

✅ Keep your thermostat set at 70°F or higher. Setting it lower will not make your home cool any faster or better—it only causes your system to run longer without speeding up the cooling process.

✅ Check and replace your air filter if it’s dirty.

✅ Keep all windows and doors closed.

✅ Close blinds or curtains to block direct sunlight.

✅ Avoid constantly adjusting the thermostat—give your system time to run and remove heat from your home.

Remember, on extremely hot days, most residential air conditioners are designed to maintain your home about 18–22 degrees cooler than the outdoor temperature. If it’s 100°F outside, seeing indoor temperatures in the upper 70s is often considered normal operation.

If your system isn’t cooling at all, is blowing warm air, or you’re concerned something isn’t right, we’re here to help.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the increased demand during this heat wave. Stay cool and stay safe!
