School is back in session!

As students head back to the classroom this week, we’re celebrating a few of the K–12 spaces we’ve had the privilege to help bring to life. From classrooms and science labs to athletic facilities, performing arts spaces and places to gather, we believe great schools should inspire students to learn, create, connect and grow.

Here’s to a great school year!

Great architecture creates a place. Great interiors bring it to life.

Our interior design department is comprised of five registered interior designers and three interior designers who believe exceptional interiors are fundamental to every successful project. Rather than treating interiors as a separate discipline, our designers collaborate alongside our architects from concept through completion, ensuring every space is thoughtfully integrated and purposefully designed.

This collaborative approach has earned our team more than 70 regional interior design awards, including 57 received within the last eight years. Whether designing environments for healing, learning, working, or gathering, our team is passionate about creating interiors that strike the perfect balance between function, beauty, and the unique needs of each client. The result is innovative, timeless spaces that not only meet expectations—but consistently exceed them.

Nothing says summer like baseball at Dickey-Stephens Park! ⚾ Yesterday, our PSW team traded drawings for dugouts as we enjoyed PSW Family Night with the Arkansas Travelers. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun evening!

Step inside our Fayetteville office, where a 1930s landmark has been thoughtfully restored for a new chapter. Once home to Needham's Food Market, the D-Lux Cafe, and the beloved Rathskeller bar, the building now serves as our design studio while preserving the character that makes this historic district so special. In its first year, the project was recognized with a Preserve Arkansas Excellence in Preservation Honorable Mention and the City of Fayetteville Historic Restoration Award.

We're excited to be collaborating with Alliiance on the conceptual vision for the future of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport. The proposed plans explore enhancements including a new arrivals hall, expanded baggage claim, additional gates, enhanced dining and retail, and an improved passenger experience. We're honored to be part of imagining what's next.

A transformation worth celebrating. Swipe to see the before and after of the newly renovated Simmons Bank branch on South University in Little Rock. We were honored to attend yesterday's ribbon cutting and celebrate a space thoughtfully reimagined to better serve customers and the community. Congratulations to Simmons Bank on this exciting milestone!

Summer is the perfect time to experience the magic of Opera in the Ozarks.

Nestled within the wooded hills of Eureka Springs, the new 300-seat opera house at Inspiration Point Center for the Arts is envisioned as a “theater in the woods,” seamlessly woven into the Ozark landscape. Replacing an outdated and undersized theater, the new opera house embraces its history of providing an outdoor-immersive performance experience, and its mission of artistic education, collaboration, and cultural enrichment.

If you're looking for a memorable summer outing, consider catching a performance and experiencing this remarkable venue firsthand. It's a wonderful example of how architecture can support the arts while creating a destination for performers and audiences alike.

Have you been to Opera in the Ozarks?

This summer, we've had the privilege of welcoming an outstanding group of interns to Polk Stanley Wilcox. Throughout the season, they've been gaining hands-on experience, contributing to real projects, and bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our teams.

Joining our Little Rock office this summer are Audrey Swain, Logan Smith, Zack Makris, and Abigail Dalton, while Megan McMurtrey is spending the summer in our Fayetteville office.

We're grateful to have these talented students with us and look forward to seeing all they'll accomplish during the rest of their internship. We're glad you're part of the PSW team!

A new national museum celebrating the entire history of the US Marshals Service rises like a badge embedded in the banks of the Arkansas River at the exact location where 1800’s frontier marshals launched from Fort Smith to pursue outlaws in the Oklahoma Territory….and legends were made.
