There’s something magical about spotting a mushroom 🍄‍🟫 in the yard proof that the soil is rich, alive, and doing what nature does best. These little fungi thrive in moist, shady areas where organic matter is breaking down beneath the surface. this little one was right and trampoline.

That said, not all mushrooms are safe for pets or kids, so if they’re popping up too often, make sure to check drainage and airflow in your yard to keep things balanced🍄‍🟫

Hey hey hey 👋 it’s that time again! Saw a post that reminded me of this weird little friend making its comeback: dog vomit slime mold (yes, that’s really what it’s called). Technically it’s Fuligo septica harmless to plants, pets, and people, just out here living its best life in damp mulch.

Keep it if you’re into funky nature things, or toss it if the looks creeps you out. To get rid of it:
• Scoop it up and toss it.
• Let the mulch dry out a bit.
• Stir or turn over the mulch to help it from coming back.

Or just let it be it usually dries up and disappears in a day or two.

Its purpose:
Slime mold is a decomposer, it breaks down organic material like dead leaves, wood chips, and mulch. This helps recycle nutrients back into the soil, enriching it and supporting plant life.

Even though it looks like something your dog coughed up, it’s actually:

Not a fungus, not a plant, and not an animal (it’s in a category of its own),
A sign that your mulch is nice and rich in organic matter, & kind of a tiny janitor for your garden, cleaning up what’s decaying.

So in short: It’s nature’s little cleanup crew! Cuteee🤎

Poison Hemlock and Queen Anne’s Lace grow wild in Arkansas.

They may look alike, but only one is safe. Poison Hemlock is toxic to humans and animals 🐾 even touching it can be dangerous. They often grow side by side in ditches, fields, and even backyards.

In Arkansas, knowing the difference isn’t just helpful it can be life-saving. Keep those Eyes open 👀

Did a nice cleanup on this one! Trimmed the trees, added fresh mulch, and gave the yard a good mow and edge. It’s looking tidy and all set for the new tenants 👌🏽
