Before summer slips away, spend an afternoon at South Yard! ☀️🌿

Once home to the Fayetteville Farmers Cooperative, South Yard has been transformed through adaptive reuse, new construction, and thoughtful site design into a new mixed-use neighborhood while preserving the industrial character of the original site.

Grab a coffee or a bite at The Meteor, explore the surrounding spaces, and hop onto the Razorback Greenway right outside. 🚲 The Meteor’s South Yard location includes an all-day café, bottle shop, and bike shop, making it a particularly good excuse to experience the project in person.

The best classrooms don't always have four walls.

The landscape at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center was designed to introduce children to the diverse ecosystems found across Arkansas. 🦋

From native hardwood trees inspired by the Ozark Highlands to wetland plant communities representative of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain, the site creates opportunities for hands-on learning through exploration and play.

By bringing these landscapes into the heart of Little Rock, the project helps connect future generations with the natural beauty of our state.

Thaden School officially celebrated the opening of its new Lower School building with a ribbon cutting on Monday! 🎉

The new Lower School expands the Thaden campus to serve students from kindergarten through 4th grade, with a strong emphasis on connecting learning, play, and the natural environment. The landscape was designed around nature-based play, creating outdoor spaces that complement the building’s natural light and direct access to the outdoors.

Our landscape architecture and engineering teams worked together to help shape a playground and campus environment that encourages exploration, movement, and everyday interaction with nature.

We can't thank our team enough for creating this unique learning experience!

Before & After | Lake Atalanta 🛶

Lake Atalanta was designed to preserve the site's historic character while creating a space that welcomes everyone.

New trails, gathering spaces, cycling amenities, fishing access, and accessible features make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to experience the park together.

Nearly a decade later, the park continues to serve as a place where the Rogers community can gather, explore, and connect with the outdoors.

The project pictured is Wynne Market Square, designed as a place where families, friends, and neighbors can gather in the heart of downtown. As part of the city's revitalization efforts, the park has become a destination for community events, recreation, and everyday connection.

Whether it's Wynne Market Square or your neighborhood park, these last few weeks of summer are the perfect time to visit a local splash pad, spend time outdoors, and make a few more memories before fall.

The Bayou Village is one of the defining features of the Bayou Bartholomew Master Plan.

Elevated above the floodplain and connected by accessible boardwalks, the village was envisioned as a destination where visitors can paddle, camp, learn, and gather while experiencing the nation's longest bayou. The concept creates new opportunities for recreation and education while celebrating the ecology and history of the Arkansas Delta.

Projects like this demonstrate how thoughtful planning can help communities reconnect with the natural resources that define them.

Before & After | Coler Crossing 🚴‍♀️

At Coler Crossing, our team's vision was to create a mixed-use development that prioritized both people and the environment.

What was once an almost entirely impervious site is now a vibrant community destination that manages stormwater naturally and expands greenspace all while strengthening connections to Bentonville's trail network, including access to Coler Mountain Bike Preserve.

This comparison offers a glimpse into the design process, showing how the vision translated into the completed project. Every detail, from the landscape to the site layout, was carefully considered long before construction began.

Like every EDG project, the landscape at 11th Street Cottages was designed with the site's ecology in mind. What makes this project unique is the client's commitment to preserving that vision through construction, ensuring the landscape remained just as much a priority as the architecture.

Beginning with soil analysis, the planting plan incorporates nearly 90% native species, including edible native plants that support pollinators, strengthen local ecosystems, and create a landscape that evolves with the seasons.

Thoughtfully integrated gathering spaces, pathways, and planting areas foster a strong connection between residents and the outdoors, demonstrating how intentional landscape design can enrich everyday living while contributing to the long-term health of the site.
