This property in Littleton got some improvements this fall. The back lawn was shaped to drain well but a failed culvert and thick vegetation was holding the water and keeping the edge of the lawn saturated. We pulled some muck out and reshaped everything to drain well and installed a new culvert to continue having access to a cool spot out in the woods. Once all of the drainage issues were solved, we gave the loose stone driveway a fresh coat of ledgepack to help lock everything together.

Continued work on this job in sugar hill with Northern Builders. Last fall we trenched to install a new water line as well as a new generator power and propane hook up. We just finished building two field stone retaining walls. One on each side of the house. Once we set rough grades, we installed precast piers for two future decks to be built. Once those get built, we will come back to install the lawn, a patio, and walkway as well as some garden irrigation.

In between phases of drainage work at this repeat customers house, we got a call from another contractor that we love working with, doing some awesome renovations at the same time. They said that they had plans with the home owners to also add a small entry way addition to the cottage and they needed a slab installed. While there to finish our original scope of work, we were able to get this small slab cut out, prepped and poured as well as another small asphalt tear out to add a garden area to hide the utility conduits. Our equipment allows us to be very versatile and efficient across many different types of jobs, and we like the variety. Also follow along with Elevated Building Company, LLC to see their progress on all of the work they are doing here!

Another fun one with a beautiful view. Last fall we did a large amount of drainage behind this cottage. This summer we completed phase 2 of the drainage work. Starting from the top corner above the main house, we dug a swale to catch all the water that comes off the mountain and sloped that down into another ditch we dug last year. We added a short extension to last years French drain system to help with a new spring found during excavation. We also added another separate French drain through an area that was staying constantly wet around a large chunk of ledge and tied this one into an existing concrete catch basin. We installed piping to 5 locations for future gutter downspouts. We added ledge pack for a nice finish behind the cottage and new topsoil everywhere that was excavated to replant the grass and fix the grading all around the building. We also completed some other fun projects that we will share shortly!

This yard right in town catches a lot of water from surrounding areas and although there were some measures in place to help with drainage, it wasn’t enough. Poor grading and poor soil quality kept this yard wet and soggy long after each rain storm. We created a network of French drain pipe to help move the sub surface water into this existing catch basin. We also were able to dig just a bit further and burry a gutter downspout in the same trench that was adding to the standing water issue. Once the pipe and stone work was complete and the fabric closed up, new loam was spread and sloped to help water run off better during the heavy rains and grass was replanted. These homeowners will now be able to enjoy all of their yard again.
