Torque, Truth, and the Tools We Trust

I was running on reserve battery this morning.

But the moment I stepped into service, something shifted. And it wasn’t forced. It was real. As Michael Beckwith says, “In the feeling comes the healing.”

In just two hours, I was able to give my client tremendous value. She immediately saw the difference and handed me three more projects on the spot.

We worked fast and with purpose:

🔧 I used a fastener ID tool so she could move forward on a stuck light fixture
🧱 Installed a babyproof bracket into concrete
🔩 Helped her troubleshoot a mounting issue under the bike rack—ran into metal studs again
🔋 Then we assessed her Black & Decker drill… which opened a bigger conversation.

Her drill, stamped “high torque,” puts out 140 in-lbs.

My latest-gen Milwaukee M12, no sales language around torque, sleek and small, puts out 1,400 in-lbs.

ENGINEERING: Pinto vs Ferrari? That’s a tenfold difference. So, it’s not just about tools. It’s about truth.

We talked about why so many brands… Craftsman, Black & Decker, etc. Began cutting corners in the ’80s and ’90s. Lifetime warranties turned into marketing gimmicks. Quality went down. And most folks didn’t bother returning a $10 tool, so they just bought another. The illusion held up, even while the product didn’t.

But that’s not how I serve.

She didn’t just get a bracket installed. She got peace of mind. She saw what real torque looks like—not just in a tool, but in a person who shows up with heart, skill, and presence.

And the best part? It re-energized me.

That visit went from $217 to about $250 with the extra time—but the value was so much more than a number.

Low cost solutions to detecting and diffusing, our properties safety and security dangers, is on the rise, in our communities. FYI!

HTH LTD asks that you consider a fully functioning, pre-embedded, software/hardware option, such as Simplisafe. Why?

While not as robust, as a residential electronic system integration specialist, these manufactured systems, are likely to possess the bells and whistles required, with much greater distribution and access. In addition to better upfront/maintenance costs.

That is as long as your ISP offers required data transfer speeds for usage. Which IST (Integrated System Technicians) have no control over. They are limited by the infrastructure, they can create up to the demarcation point of the ISP. In other words physical cabling and data delivery from the ISP demarcation in our homes.
