Common Design Flaws:

1) The volcano affect where it looks like the pond came up from underground and started spewing lava.
2) Thousands of the same size rocks which takes away from the natural look of the pond.
3) Building a pond in a flat back yard means you don't need to have the berm that tall, maybe 18". Plantings around behind the spillway will help break up the hardscape and really make everything look natural.
