Finding a bat indoors can be alarming, but your reaction matters.

❌ Don't try to catch it with your bare hands
❌ Don't corner it or swat at it
❌ Don't release it outside if there has been potential human or pet contact
❌ Don't seal entry points until the situation has been properly assessed

Instead:

✅ Close interior doors to limit where the bat can fly
✅ Keep children and pets away from the area
✅ If possible, note where the bat came from or where it is exiting
✅ Contact a wildlife professional for guidance

⚠️ It's also important to know that bat maternity season is now underway. During this time, mother bats are raising their young, and exclusions are restricted to prevent baby bats from becoming trapped inside structures. This means that timing is critical when dealing with bat issues.
