Hemerocallis ‘Lemon Edged Roses’

A new introduction last year, this is one of my favorites, truly a standout in the daylily world.

It has bright red petals with a distinct line down the middle, and bright gold toothy edges. The flower scapes stand above the foliage with a burst of “good morning!” and “happy day!” vibes.

This one’s a winner.

The surprise spinach from my microgreens don’t-care, gone-to-far, started-leafing-out batch from the winter is still growing strong!

It’s quite amazing to me as I’ve never heard of anyone in Zone 8 in GA being successful with this crop, and I really haphazardly scattered a large amount of seed in a small tray to begin with.

I’ll just repeat that process next year and see if this is beginner’s luck, or if I’ve found what works for me!

Hemerocallis ‘Michael’s Sword’

This bloom has that rich velvety color that makes you stop and stare 💜✨

‘Michael’s Sword’ brings together deep lavender-rose petals, a glowing chartreuse throat, and incredible form that changes beautifully as the bloom opens through the day. With its unusual form and high double percentage, no two blooms seem exactly alike — and that’s part of the magic.

The fragrance is such a sweet bonus too. One of those daylilies you notice before you even reach the garden bed 🌿

Hybridized by Brad Best in 2005, this midseason beauty stands 29 inches tall with 5-inch blooms, impressive branching, and up to 30 buds per scape. A dependable bloomer with dramatic color and graceful movement in the garden.

Parentage: (Bee’s Bettie Sue × Lavender Blue Baby)

Some flowers are cheerful… and some feel downright elegant. This one definitely leans elegant 💫

I had a veteran teach me to never say “Happy Memorial Day.” It’s not happy. It’s remembering veterans who have given their lives for our country.

Veterans Day celebrates ALL veterans, living and passed on, present and past.

Memorial Day remembers those who gave their lives in the line of duty for our country and our citizens.

THANK YOU.

This is a cute trend. Here’s one for my mascot “Daisy Mae” aka Allison aka me.

Hemerocallis ‘Tramps Like Us’

Look at those rich cardinal red petals, creamy pink sepals, dramatic white midribs, and that incredible gold toothy edge glowing in the evening light. The yellow halo and green throat make the whole bloom look like it’s lit from within. Daylily season is pure magic around here right now 💛

This Richard Howard introduction from 2015 stands tall at 40 inches with huge 5.5-inch blooms and strong branching. A true garden showpiece with gorgeous color contrast and frilly edges that only get better as the bloom opens through the day.

I finally got around to making lotion! I am loving this new consistency. I use 3:1 Shea Butter to Coconut Oil.

Usually I make lotion in the winter when it’s cold outside, and there’s not much to do because it gets dark so early.

The stove heats up the kitchen.
I set the lotion outside in the cold air to solidify.

However, we had so much leftover from last winter that I just now had to make a new batch.

So here we have 2026’s lotion. If you want some, let me know. I might make a second batch.
