🌪️ FROM STORM DAMAGE TO FULLY RESTORED. 🇺🇸

After a tornado struck this Great Clips location, the rooftop HVAC equipment suffered catastrophic damage. Two rooftop units were destroyed, along with portions of the curb, electrical, and supporting infrastructure.

Affordable American Air was brought in to help get this busy location back up and running.

After coordinating equipment, custom-fabricated curb adapters, crane service, electrical and gas work, and working through the challenges that come with a major storm-loss project, both new Trane rooftop systems are now installed, commissioned, and operational.

🌪️ Tornado Damage HVAC Restoration — Unit #1 is Officially Up & Running! 🇺🇸❄️

When severe weather caused major damage to two rooftop HVAC systems at this Great Clips location, Affordable American Air was called in to help get their comfort restored.

This project has involved much more than simply replacing HVAC equipment. Our team documented the storm damage, prepared detailed HVAC damage reports to assist with the insurance process, sourced the new commercial equipment, coordinated crane service, and handled the installation and commissioning from start to finish.

Today was a BIG milestone. 💪

✅ New Trane commercial rooftop unit installed
✅ Economizer installed and operational
✅ Electrical, gas & mechanical connections completed
✅ System fully tested and commissioned
✅ Cooling restored! ❄️

A HUGE shoutout to Leo, Garrett, and Dejan for the work they’ve put into this project. From preparation and coordination to getting the equipment safely onto the roof and making sure everything was completed correctly, these guys did an outstanding job. Proud of our crew! 🇺🇸

And we’re not finished yet…

Unit #2 is ready to go. We’re currently waiting for the custom-fabricated curb needed for the second installation. Once it arrives, we’ll coordinate the crane and return to finish the restoration.

One down. One to go. 💪🇺🇸

Another complete HVAC transformation finished by the Affordable American Air team!

Yesterday we replaced an aging Rheem system with a complete new Trane heating & cooling system — and this one was more than just an equipment swap.

✅ New 3.5-Ton Trane air conditioning system
✅ New Trane evaporator coil
✅ New 80,000 BTU Trane gas furnace
✅ New Ecobee smart thermostat
✅ New custom return drop
✅ New condenser pad & exterior setup
✅ New electrical disconnect & whip
✅ Surge protection added to help protect the new equipment
✅ Old equipment removed and disposed of
✅ System started, tested & commissioned

💪 Learning by doing!

Adam was helping out around the Affordable American Air shop today and getting some hands-on experience learning how to operate the Case.

We believe there’s a lot of value in teaching our team more than just HVAC. Whether it’s working on equipment, helping around the shop, or learning a new piece of machinery, every new skill makes our team stronger.

Adam’s been putting in the work, learning, and continuing to add to his skill set — and judging by that smile, I think he enjoyed today’s lesson! 😂

🌪️ When severe weather hits, getting a business back operational becomes the priority.

Following the devastating storms that impacted Illinois & Northwest Indiana, our team at Affordable American Air responded to a Great Clips location where both commercial rooftop HVAC units were ripped from their rooftop mounting positions and destroyed.

This wasn’t simply a matter of replacing two air conditioners.

One curb adapter was ripped away with the equipment. Rooftop gas piping was damaged. Electrical components and a disconnect were torn from their mounting. Duct connections were exposed, and both rooftop systems sustained catastrophic physical damage.

Fortunately, these systems were already under our ongoing maintenance and care prior to the storm, giving our team firsthand knowledge of their service history and pre-loss operating condition.

Our job now is to help get this business back to normal as quickly, safely and properly as possible.

Our complete restoration plan includes:

• Two new commercial rooftop HVAC systems
• New economizers on both systems
• A custom-fabricated curb adapter
• Restoration of damaged rooftop gas piping
• Electrical and disconnect restoration
• Ductwork and rooftop connection restoration
• Crane and rigging coordination
• Complete startup, testing and commissioning

The new equipment will also carry manufacturer warranty protection, including 3-year parts, 5-year compressor and 10-year heat exchanger warranties.

📋 We also help property owners document HVAC storm losses.

When severe weather causes significant HVAC damage, Affordable American Air can prepare a detailed HVAC Storm Damage Assessment Report to help clearly communicate the technical details of the loss to the property owner and their insurance company.

Our reports can document equipment identification, photographs of the damage, observed storm-related conditions, pre-loss service history when available, professional HVAC findings, and the recommended scope necessary to restore the system.

We don’t determine insurance coverage or replace the insurance adjuster. Our job is to make sure the HVAC side of the loss is thoroughly documented by experienced HVAC professionals so the details don’t get lost in the claim process.

Whether it’s a rooftop unit ripped from a curb, hail damage, wind damage, electrical damage, or another major HVAC loss, we’re prepared to help document the damage and develop a plan for restoration.
