We have enjoyed some amazing weather this past week, haven't we? Trees are budding and blooming, tulips are peeking up out of the ground... spring is springing!

We also need to remember that we are in Colorado, and things can change in a hiccup! Temps will be low overnight for the next several days, so if you have turned on your sprinklers already make sure and turn them off for the week and throw a blanket or heavy towel over your backflow preventer. We have had plenty of moisture lately with more to come this week.

For those of you that don't know, the Colorado Garden Foundation (they produce the annual spring Garden show and fall Home show) is a non-profit organization that puts all their money back into Colorado programs. Even with no spring show they still awarded grants and scholarships all over the state, including this large donation to Food Bank of the Rockies. We have always felt fortunate to play a very small part in the very big way that the Colorado Garden Foundation contributes to our beautiful state.

Even though the Colorado Garden & Home Show was virtual this year, we are grateful to have teamed up with Bellco Credit Union to provide a $75,000 grant to Food Bank of the Rockies.

In a "normal" year...

10,000 blooming flowers would have been delivered to nursing
homes today

250 ton of materials would have been loaded up onto trucks
and driven back to the vendors.

Trees and shrubs that were forced would be back at the nursery,
safe in a greenhouse waiting for spring.

... and Roger would just be getting home after working 36 hours
straight to break everything down and leave a clean convention
center floor. (so we guess we don't miss EVERYTHING about the
missing the show this year! 😜)

We missed seeing our friends both old and new. We missed the fragrance of the hyacinths blooming in the garden, and the relaxing sounds of the water features. We missed seeing so many creative displays and getting inspiration to perfect our craft.

We look forward to seeing everyone in a renewed and healthy 2022. Until then, love to all and you know how to find us if you need us!

2014 Wildlife Experience African Garden. We were so lucky to work with such a fun organization and utilize all the beautiful specimens. We were sad when it closed to the public, and hope all these animals found a good place to live.

The kitchen or bathroom would be really great, as the plant would benefit from the additional humidity!

One of my favorite gardens... Denver Zoo! We were able to borrow so many interesting plants that you would never think could thrive in our climate. Like everything, it’s all about finding the right spot for the the right plant (hint: we can help with that!!)

The Pirate Garden popped up in our memories... what a fun show! Did you know that this amazing giant ship was made completely out of carved styrofoam? It was actually floating in 6" of water!

BBRRR! It was a cold weekend! It reminded us of the 2010 ICE AGE Garden!! We hope you all stayed warm and are enjoying the President's Day weekend!
