Day 3 in the hightunnel.

We were having pest problems in our covered growing space after 2 years of continuous use. This winter it is being restored. Beneficial nematodes were added and a cover crop was sown. Now the chickens are doing their work and the hightunnel will lie fallow until early spring and will be used to expand our growing area for ginger and turmeric in 2022.

At the farm we have what we call second breakfast. Typical day on the farm starts out with some type of hot beverage coffee or tea mixed with local honey and raw milk. Then it's off to do morning chores, stretch our weary bones, and harvest fresh goodies. Around 8:30 or 9 in the morning the kids wake up, they help with animal chores then we make, second breakfast. Some may call it brunch, some may call it a late breakfast. Around 10 a.m. a bell is rung from The Farmhouse and all those who are hungry come inside eat a meal together.
Then it is time for learning and working. Today farmer Tyler is weeding fall crops. Mama Erin and the kids are having "Learning Time" until lunch around 1pm. Learning time today is a sewing lesson, followed by by multiplication, finishing off with some reading and writing.
Lunch today is a picnic at the lake.

This entire post was talk to text.
