RIS (Raytheon Intelligence and Space) is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Electrical Engineer - FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) to work in the ACT (Advanced Concepts and Technology) Hardware Engineering Directorate. The position will be located in El Segundo, California.
The candidate is responsible for developing FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) level requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, implementing design, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the FPGA, module, and/or unit in a laboratory setting. The candidate will be familiar with latest technology trend in the area of microprocessor, memory, FPGA and interface protocols. The candidate will work in the product development team environment with system and software engineers. This position may require occasional business related travel.
Required Skills:
•Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA design implementation/verification with VHDL (Vhsic Hardware Description Language) design language and digital hardware design and testing
•Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGAs
•Experience with microprocessor, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR (Double Data Rate) and flash memories, block diagrams, parts lists, and design review packages for complex electronics
•Hands-on experience in testing of products using logic analyzer, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and FPGA debugging tools
•Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
•Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills
•The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Desired Skills:
•Experience designing FPGAs with embedded microprocessors
•Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: JESD204, PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect), PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), VPX, and Gb Ethernet
•Software skills with Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Visual basic, and/or assembly languages
•Experience in low volume, high complexity development environments
•Experience working on Agile Teams using JIRA
•Knowledge of GitLab DevSecOps tools
•Existing Secret or higher security clearance
Required Education:
Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree
Desired Education:
Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree
