I always laugh when a potential customer asks me to price match some random quote they got. It’s always for glazing tubs too.
“This guy said he can do it for 55% of what you charge”
Do you go out to eat a nice dinner, & ask them to comp half your meal because Burger King is cheaper?
No, because you look like a cheapskate if you do!!!
I’m not a gypsy at a swap meet. I’m not breathing toxic fumes at a discount so you can feel like you got the best deal you can get. Go with the cheap guy, and cross your fingers🙄

This was for a great customer of mine. The shower had been repaired once before, but so many odd things were done. It’s sometimes easier to just rip the whole thing out & start over, but trying to get this one done with as little down time as possible.

Polyclean to the rescue! I never recommend anyone to glaze a tub unless it’s absolutely necessary. This one is in a rental & wasn’t terrible… I mean, it definitely has seen some better days, but it’s clean now.

Not done with this one yet, but the hard stuff is handled. Lots of uneven walls, termite & dry rot damage, and funky things to figure out, but removing a wall in a compartmentalized master bath to add some more space. Took out the old fiberglass tub/shower, & made a walk in shower. Added some recessed lights, a huge custom medicine cabinet, and a bigger vanity. Still gotta build out the closet, and make a massive 8’x 40” barn door to separate the bedroom from the bathroom, but it’s taking shape pretty well considering how complicated it has been.
I always remember why I don’t like working in places with shared walls when I see how a wall can be off square by almost an inch within 3 feet…. On 3 separate walls!!

A little bit of elbow grease, (and a touch of phosphoric acid) and this seat, shelf, bench thing behind a big soaker tub looks like new again.
