1. Insulate Exposed Pipes: Wrap exposed pipes in your basement, attic, and crawl spaces with pipe insulation. This extra layer keeps the cold out and the warmth in.

2. Keep Your Thermostat Consistent: Avoid letting the indoor temperature drop below 55°F, even when you're away. A consistent temperature helps to keep your pipes warm.

3. Open Cabinet Doors: Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow warm air to circulate around the plumbing, especially if the pipes are on exterior walls.
