Condensation between the glass, cracking, leaks, or its 15 - 20 years old? It's time to get new skylights.

Skylights on Colorado homes take a beating from UV exposure, hail, and constant freeze thaw cycling that breaks down seals and flashing over time. And a roof replacement is the best time to replace your skylights, and most homeowners miss it.

Replacing them at the same time as the roof avoids reopening a finished job and saves on labor. Inspections are free.

Curious about solar shingles? They're one of the coolest roofing technologies out there, shingles that generate electricity and become the roof itself, instead of panels bolted on top. In our newest video, Patrick breaks down how solar shingles actually work, how they differ from traditional solar panels, the warranties involved, and the honest truth about getting them in Colorado right now (including why you should always get your roof done right first).

Most homeowners don't know where to start with window replacement. The number of options alone is enough to stall the decision for months.

WestPro installs the full Pella lineup, from entry-level Encompass vinyl windows to 250 Series mid-range vinyl and the Lifestyle series wood windows, all the way through the Impervia fiberglass line. This includes double-hung, casement, sliding, picture, awning, and specialty shape windows. A free inspection is not just a measurement. It is a process of narrowing down the options based on your home, your budget, and what actually makes sense long term so you can make a real decision without the overwhelm.

Hail damage or rotting frames? These original wood windows on Snead Court had both.

Colorado hail season was the final straw for frames that had been quietly rotting for years. Luckily the homeowner made the right call and upgraded to Pella Impervia fiberglass windows in white, built for you and the seasons.

Class 4 Shingles aren't required in Denver right now. But we strongly recommend them.

Denver takes a hail hit nearly every year and code requirements have a history of tightening after major storm seasons. Strongly recommended and legally required are two different standards, but the gap between them closes quickly when the next big storm rolls through. Always verify with your local building department before you sign a roofing contract because that answer can change.

This Longmont homeowner reached out looking for someone to “do it right.”

Built in 1972, the home’s original vinyl windows had reached the end of their lifespan. Leaks, condensation between the panes, and mechanical issues were making the windows less reliable and less comfortable to live with.

The solution was a full replacement with Pella Impervia® windows featuring a clean white interior and exterior. The updated windows give the home a fresh look while addressing the issues that mattered most to the homeowner.

Every home has a different story, and the right replacement starts with understanding what’s causing the problem, not just replacing what’s there.

Are Pella windows actually worth it? After installing them across the Front Range, our honest answer is yes for about 90% of Colorado homes, and in our newest video Patrick explains why. He walks through the full Pella lineup we install and what each one really costs (from around $1,050 for entry vinyl up to premium fiberglass and real wood), plus the truth most window salespeople won't tell you: the brand name matters less than the glass, frame, and configuration.

For most Colorado homeowners, mid range vinyl does the job. But there are situations where fiberglass is the right answer.

Fiberglass products like Pella Impervia or Andersen 400 Series expand and contract at nearly the same rate as glass, which means the seal holds better through Colorado's temperature swings over time. That matters most in strict energy code jurisdictions like Boulder and Boulder County, on homes with significant sun or temperature exposure, or for homeowners who prioritize long term performance over upfront cost.

What's the best Class 4 hail-resistant shingle? GAF Armorshield II.

Patrick has been through the warranty process with Malarkey, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed. GAF Armorshield II is what came out on top, not on paper but in the field and through actual warranty claims. SBS modified construction, consistent performance across the Front Range, and the only manufacturer that delivered on its promises when it mattered.

It is also the shingle on his own house. That is the recommendation.

Most homeowners don’t think about their roof until something feels off.

The challenge is knowing when it’s time to take action and when it’s simply something to monitor.

That’s why we put together this simple homeowner decision tree.

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, it may be worth taking a closer look before a small issue becomes a bigger one.
