Another local plumbing company inspected a customer's drain stoppage and recommended snaking the line followed by descaling the pipe.
The customer reached out to us for a second opinion, and we're grateful they did. After performing a camera inspection, we discovered the pipe in question was Orangeburg pipe, which is made primarily of asphalt.
This type of pipe cannot be descaled and attempting to do so can actually cause further damage.
Instead, we were able to replace the entire line for a fraction of the cost the customer had been quoted for descaling-providing a safer, long-term solution. 👏🏼
