Come walk Mar Vista with me.
This one came together in layers. Masonry walls and stucco set the bones. The concrete patio gave it the foundation people actually live on. The hedges went in with irrigation already running so they have a real shot at filling in the way they're supposed to.
A backyard isn't one decision. It's a hundred decisions that have to agree with each other. This is what that looks like up close.

A finished backyard isn't just about how it looks on day one. It's about how it holds up on day three hundred. Every line, every material, and every transition between zones in this build was chosen with how the family actually lives outside in mind.

Deck board installation is one of those stages where the vision starts clicking into place. The surface is building out, the lines are clean, and you can finally stand there and picture the finished space. Outdoor dining, morning coffee, kids running around on a solid, well-built deck that was done right from the start.

The forming is done and this Mar Vista patio is almost ready for pour.
Here is what makes this design intentional: instead of one solid concrete slab, we are laying individual sections with artificial turf gaps in between. It is a detail that directly mirrors the existing pool deck, creating one continuous design language across the entire outdoor space. Nothing feels added on. Everything belongs.
The forms are set, the layout is locked in, and rebar goes in next before we are ready to pour. Watching a backyard come together like this, where every decision connects back to the full picture, is exactly why we love this work.

Mar Vista is stacking up wins.The wood fencing is finished and getting its final touch-ups. The concrete patio forming is underway, designed to match the existing pool deck for that seamless, continuous look. The pool is protected while we work. The new hedges are fully planted with irrigation already dialed in for them. And landscape lighting is up next.
This is what a project in full stride looks like. Multiple systems coming together at once, every trade handing off cleanly to the next. The finish line is close and this backyard is going to be something special.

After the prep, the pour, and the hand-finishing, these are the final steps. A clean, smooth pool surround in Redondo Beach, matched to the existing concrete, structurally sound from the ground up, and ready for years of outdoor living.

From rebar to ready. This is the concrete pour at our Redondo Beach pool patio project, and it came together exactly the way we planned. 🪨 Matching the existing concrete finish on a pool surround in a tight Redondo Beach backyard is not a small ask. It takes patience, a good eye, and hands that know what they're doing.

This Redondo Beach pool patio is prepped and ready. Forms are set, the ground is compacted, rebar is going in, and tomorrow morning the concrete flows. Every detail is dialed in to match the existing finish seamlessly.
