Counting down the days until Modernism Week – October (modernismweek.com)! We'll be heading to Palm Springs this Oct. 19-22 to get our fix of all things midcentury and modern. We're especially looking forward to learning more about the Aluminaire House Palm Springs, the first prefab metal house designed by Albert Frey and built in the United States.

Before + after 🌳

Still remembering construction day at Geneseo Inn like it was yesterday. We loved working with the team from CRATE Modular to assemble each individual shipping container with efficiency and precision. Can you believe it took less than half a day to erect everything?

to the P***n Studio, the first permitted container residence built in San Bernardino County. It established the precedent for other shipping container residential projects to be built throughout the Mojave Desert of California. Can you believe it only took 3 hours to install the 5 shipping containers that we used to design and construct this residence? Now that's the power of .

to the final stages of Geneseo Inn. We loved working with CRATE Modular to install each of these container units, which were precisely assembled in less than a day. Maximum efficiency, minimum disruption to the environment, and beautiful design is what we're all about.

Dreaming up some epic interior architecture for this Upstate NY residence. Repurposed shipping containers and sustainable materials will be used to maximize form without compromising function. Stay tuned for more.

Golden hour at the , a completely off-the-grid shipping container hybrid house and photo studio in Joshua Tree.

Also known as The Tim P***n Studio at Shadow Mountain, we designed this hybrid home to be a 2nd generation kit-like house that is an alternative to pre-fab homes. The hybrid house design is based on the Prius automobile engineering concept: combining pre-engineered building and energy conservation with custom design options and flexibility.

Wishing this was our view this morning! We designed the clerestory windows of each unit at Geneseo Inn to let more natural light into the space, while enhancing the surrounding views of Cass Winery.
