Rooted in Calm: A Garden of Subtle Structure and Soft Movement

This front garden is a quiet balance of structure and softness. A board-formed concrete wall gently defines the edge, offering privacy without shutting the space away. Underfoot, a grid of pavers lays out clean geometry, guiding movement with intention. Plantings spill into the lines — wispy grasses, sculptural succulents, and bursts of seasonal color that shift with the light and breeze. The palette is restrained but rich in texture, inviting the eye to slow down. At its heart, a raised olive tree rises with quiet confidence, grounding the design and giving the space its sense of calm.

Where once there was a shaggy patch of sod, there is now a beautiful stopping off point between the main house and the pool garden. By adding pavers in the classic “Versailles” pattern and by turning the fountain to address guests as they come into the garden, a poorly defined space has become a focal point for all who enter the garden.
