Greywater is gently-used water from laundry, bathtubs, showers, and bathroom sinks that can be captured and used a second time instead of going down the drain. Used for irrigation it saves water, saves money, protects remote aquatic ecosystems, grows a beautiful and bountiful garden, recharges the local aquifer, and reduces loads on sewage and septic systems. Greywater Corps designs and installs residential greywater systems, works with communities and non-profits to promote greywater use, and teaches hands-on workshops where you can learn how to install your own greywater system.

This recently installed 10,000 gallon rainwater system (4x 2,500 gal. cisterns) in Claremont, CA is about 20% full after just 1” of rainfall. Harvested rainwater can be stored in UV resistant tanks for extended periods, requiring only basic filtration to supply standard drip irrigation. Rainwater harvesting is a powerful tool for long term water security, localizing water supplies rather than relying on dwindling inputs from remote watersheds.

Greywater dripline before disappearing into a bed of mulch 😌 This type of system uses a pump to pressurize custom fabricated driplines with large holes that allow greywater to flow through. Once installed, the lines are covered in 3 inches of mulch, which helps distribute the water and enrich the soil.
