Congratulations to Jake Fry on becoming fully vested in HBC’s ESOP this year! For Jake, employee-ownership is about more than building financial security for the future. It’s also about finding greater purpose in the work he does every day.

When he retires, he hopes to travel and teach people in developing countries how to manage construction projects, using his experience to make a difference through humanitarian work.

We recently completed a full-floor tenant improvement for a global aircraft leasing company in one of Newport Center’s high-rise buildings. The space features Italian natural stone, custom millwork, and architectural metal detailing that indicates a custom, modern design. Large windows and expansive glass-front offices optimize natural light while creating panoramic views of Newport Harbor. Private offices and meeting spaces create a refined environment where thoughtful design and functionality result in a space that evokes understated luxury.

This year, Emily Fuller reached an important milestone…she became fully vested in HBC’s employee stock ownership plan! What does employee-ownership mean to Emily?

“I can feel comfortable knowing that I will have my 401K and my ESOP stocks when I retire.” Another thing she’s looking forward to during retirement is not having a commute.

For Logan, employee-ownership means understanding that we all have a role to play in HBC’s success. That sense of ownership extends into the future, too. When retirement arrives, he is looking forward to traveling, spending more time on his hobbies, and maybe even picking up a few new ones.

In collaboration with Blitz Design, Cresa, and Cushman & Wakefield, we completed a 50,700 SF, two-floor tenant improvement in El Segundo for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). The new workplace features a welcoming lobby and media wall, flexible gathering areas, open workspaces, conference rooms, a training center, and an overarching design inspired by collaboration and flexibility.

The workplace was built to support HSF’s mission to empower the community with knowledge and resources about higher education.

We’re happy to have been a part of this important, inspiring project!

We loved welcoming the next generation of builders and innovators to our Los Angeles office for Bring Your Kids to Work Day!

The day provided an educational experience for our employee-owners and their families, giving children an opportunity to learn about our industry, explore a variety of career paths, and see firsthand how we bring projects to life. A highlight of the day was visiting one of our active jobsites.
