Exciting activity on site at the Testimonial Community Love Center in South LA. First came the careful placement and tying of rebar, forming the steel framework that strengthens the foundation — and now we’re getting ready for the concrete pour that will bring that structure to life.

It’s incredible to watch this stage unfold. The precision, coordination, and craftsmanship that go into reinforcing and preparing the foundation ensure the building will stand strong for years to come.

Our owner Alycia Belle and Maddie, owner of Mattie’s WeHo, took a field trip to visit our friends at Litron Lighting headquarters — hand-selecting state-of-the-art, cutting-edge, beautifully luminescent lighting to elevate the entire Mattie’s experience.

This isn’t just lighting — it’s mood, energy, and atmosphere.

One thing we admire about Maddie? He is incredibly hands-on with every design element in the club. From finishes to fixtures, his creative eye and commitment to excellence ensure that every detail enhances the experience for every guest who walks through the door.

This architectural model captures the heart of the Testimonial Community Love Center — a vision thoughtfully designed to serve and uplift the South LA community. Hollywood Handy is proud to be the team helping turn this vision into reality.

Special thanks to DNA Architecture + Design for the design leadership behind this project. A meaningful detail we love: the model was crafted by a former student of Val’s — who now teaches architecture at University of Southern California — making this a beautiful example of mentorship, education, and real-world impact coming full circle.

From concept to construction, this is how community-centered design becomes something lasting. 💙

🏗️🚧 Progress Update — Building in South LA 🚧🏗️

We’re bringing you along as construction continues at the Testimonial Community Love Center in South Los Angeles. Right now, it’s all about the groundwork — and yes, that means lots of dirt!

Our team is actively prepping the foundation, digging and shaping footings and stem walls, and getting the site ready for rebar installation. At the same time, we’re trenching for plumbing, laying the essential systems that will support this project from the ground up.

It may look raw, but this stage is critical. Strong foundations lead to lasting impact — and we’re excited to share each step as this community-focused project takes shape. 💪

As we look back on the Midnight Mission Women’s Recovery Center — a project we completed earlier — we’re reminded why this work matters so much to us.

This space was built with intention, compassion, and care, supporting healing, dignity, and stability for women on their recovery journey. Looking back at what we helped create, we couldn’t be more proud of the impact this project continues to have.
