We are thrilled to share the incredible story of Bessie Stringfield, the groundbreaking "Motorcycle Queen of Miami," whose remarkable life is now captured in the award-winning documentary “To Myself With Love: The Bessie Stringfield Story,” directed and produced by Diane Fredel-Weis. This inspiring film chronicles how Bessie became the first Black woman to ride a motorcycle cross-country, breaking barriers and defying expectations in the 1930s and 40s. With festival wins and potential Oscar buzz, this documentary is a must-watch celebration of a true American trailblazer who rode her way into history. Major news from our client, The USC School of Dramatic Arts! Starting with the 2024 fall semester, tuition for the Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) will be completely covered. The tuition-free MFA programs will allow the University to more competitively recruit extraordinarily gifted creatives who bring distinct stories and experiences to stage and screen with no financial barriers.

The School of Dramatic Arts' MFA programs will waive tuition costs for incoming and current students starting this fall.

This year at the Winter TCA Tour, Independent Lens presented a panel for Space: The Longest Goodbye, featuring Director Ido Mizrahy, former astronaut Cady Coleman and her son Jamey Simpson, and Independent Lens Executive Producer Lois Vossen.

The documentary explores the mental health challenges NASA prepares astronauts for as they face extreme isolation during space missions, and premieres on PBS on May 6th.
