The fixture states “Acceptable for fan support”. To what I can read, it’s Carlon B-708 model. I unscrewed it completely to check and ensure since it’s plastic and the fan I want to hang is a big & heavy 60 inches model named Bristlecone by Hunter.

Based on online research so far, this one might be a pancake box with screws going into joist above. Attached pictures of screws with iPhone 17 Pro Max for size reference.

Can I go ahead on installation? Thanks for your help! 🙏🏻

I am replacing a light fixture. Something I have done many times. But this is an older house. And I noticed with the light switch off I am still getting 50v between the primary fixture conductors I have exposed. (Yes I will be flipping the breaker before I touch it.)

Also I have never seen two hot lines with a neutral line in a junction before. Any idea what is going on here? It was just a regular globe light before. Thanks everyone

How to get ethernet working?
Please bear with me and answer as *simply* as possible—while I have a lot of computer knowledge, always been kind of lacking on internet mechanics.

The fiber gateway is in the bedroom closet. There is a panel near it that just looks like it has a number of cables cut/sliced off.

In the gaming room (separated from the bedroom by the living room) we want a hardwire connection for the PCs. We’ve plugged one ethernet cord into the ethernet outlet and the PC, but the computer says ethernet is not connected.

How do I get the ethernet connected and running?

Had an electrician come and install new junction boxes in the ceiling for new lights. Tried to install the lights just now but I noticed all 3 wires get my voltage tester to light up. I remember the green ground wires in the other new junction boxes didn't light up. One of junction boxes, the green ground wire is hot with the switch on.

Is this normal?

Hey guys! It’s been about a year since my last post and the suite owners wanted buttons in another building they own. I took your advice and put the boards vertical this time. I’m not totally in love with it but with the time allotted, I think it turned out okay. This one was quite a bit more complicated for me as I had to have these unlock all 4 exterior doors in the building, rather than just one, and the customer didn’t want to pay for a 4 door panel. We utilized a PDK CloudNode for the main entrance with a reader and tied it into an SMP3 and double throw relay (diagram pictured) to make it all work. Any more constructive critics for the inevitable next location?
