Guangzhou Jinmao Place Wins Two 2023 GBE Awards!

Inspired by the Baiyun Mountain’s majestic beauty, as a place of wonder, discovery and urban refuge, Jinmao Place was conceived as a picturesque notion of early morning clouds gently rolling down a mountainside into the valley. Situated along a busy commercial corridor, the project forms a dramatic new identity for the city.

Celadon Wins Silver at the 2022 ICSC Global Design & Development Awards!

The project won silver in the Evolving Innovation & Aspiration category, which recognizes ideas for projects which demonstrate significant design and development imagination, excellence in community building intent, and innovative new approaches to holistic planning, urban design, architectural and store design.

Located eight miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the culturally rich community of Monterey Park, Celadon is a truly unique place that is poised to become a landmark destination. Situated at the corner of a key intersection, this lifestyle hub is comprised of just over 100 residential units atop two levels of thoughtfully programmed retail, catering to both residents and visitors alike.

JERDE’s Phil Kim, Shareholder, SVP, Managing Director, Asia Pacific was a spotlight showcase speaker at this year’s Smart Buildings Conference in Singapore.

“In order to optimize smart buildings, it is necessary to consider ways to control energy costs and how to use technical tools to improve employee productivity in the early planning and design stages of formulating strategies. At the same time, it is necessary to constantly implement and optimize building operations to support sustainable development to complement the strategic decisions of the entire organization. Architects who truly understand green practices are always better equipped with technologies and resources in a more thoughtful way to address the challenges of sustainability goals and reduce carbon footprints. This session focuses on the key components of planning and design for an urban combined with smart building, such as connectivity, wellbeing for productivity, cybersecurity, and sustainability.” – Phil Kim, JERDE

JERDE's Queen's Wharf project in Brisbane, Australia shortlisted as one of the top three Best Urban Regeneration Project's in the 2022 MIPIM Asia Awards!

This year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the competition was fierce with close to 100 entries from 10 countries in Asia Pacific. Last week, MIPIM's panel of expert judges reviewed all the entries and shortlisted the top 3 projects in each of the 11 categories.

Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane is one of the largest construction projects ever undertaken in Queensland, and we played a key role in helping to bring it to life as the conceptual master planner. In essence, the primary challenge of the project was creating a new identity of the City of Brisbane, which for years had been used mainly as a stopover for tourists visiting Australia’s Gold Coast.
