- The Bathtub Drain!

The bathtub drain is divided into two parts--the main drain and the overflow. The main drain is at the bottom of the tub and the overflow is a few inches below the rim. Both drains are connected to tubes which meet beneath the bathtub and merge into a single pipe. The main drain may have a plug stopper or a mechanical stopper operated by a lever, but the overflow never has a stopper.

Barbecues, social gatherings, and pool parties are all great reasons to fire up the grill, don’t go putting all of that corn on the cob down the disposal. Of the three tips for summer plumbing, this one is the simplest to follow. To prevent clogs, do not put corn husks or other stringy foods down the disposal. Fatty foods can also stick to drain pipes and cause clogs, so don’t put any leftover hamburger meat down the drain
