This is what a main sewer pipe looks like in a home when roots invade it. They grow into the pipe completely, and regular maintenance or snaking can only do so much. If left unchecked, you may eventually have to dig the pipe out. When the pipe is very deep, the cost of replacement can be tremendous. Therefore, always maintain your sewer system and schedule regular inspections to prevent it from reaching this stage.

Hydro jetting a kitchen drain through a 2” clean-out removes grease buildup caused by dish soap and food residue. Over time, these combine into a sludgy material that clogs pipes. To prevent this, regularly use vinegar and baking soda to keep pipes clean. If neglected, water can sit in the pipes, corroding steel, especially in slab homes. Routine maintenance is essential to avoid severe buildup and damage.

Installation of a new plumbing system for an ADU garage, including hot and cold water lines (with hot water lines insulated), and a new drain system beneath the concrete slab extending to the foundation exit. The system includes drainage for a toilet, shower, lavatory sink, and laundry room. All work has been brought up to code, and necessary inspections have been passed. This video was taken after the job’s approval and completion.

A newly built townhouse had a recurring issue with a clogged drain, requiring multiple visits from a plumber. The homeowner informed us that the line had been backing up repeatedly over the years. After diagnosing the problem, we identified the exact location that needed to be opened.

Once we unclogged the drain, we ran a camera inspection but were still unable to determine the cause of the blockage. We then broke the concrete, excavated down to the pipe, and cut it open—only to discover a pressure gauge inside. This type of gauge is typically used by builders to pressurize the gas system during the final stages of construction to pass inspection. However, in this case, someone had deliberately placed it inside the line, causing the repeated blockages.

Installation of a new main sewer lateral line from the property line to the street using SDR 35 city-approved pipe. After inspection, we will lay a gravel bedding underneath the pipe and extend it one foot above. Once the inspection is complete, we will backfill with one-sack slurry and repair the asphalt.

Executing a 17-foot-deep trenchless pipe replacement in the middle of the street, utilizing advanced pipe burst techniques to install a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with minimal surface disruption. This method ensures infrastructure integrity while reducing environmental and traffic impact. Precision engineering and safety protocols are paramount, ensuring efficient installation with long-term reliability.

The sewer line exiting the home is cast iron, transitioning to ABS plastic once it passes the foundation. However, the section of cast iron pipe under the concrete slab has deteriorated. Since there is no crawl space for easy access, we have two options for repair:
1. Epoxy Lining – This method allows us to reinforce the existing pipe without excavation.
2. Concrete Slab Removal – If the client prefers, we can break through the slab to replace the damaged section of the pipe.

Water Supply Pipes – Behind the walls, both hot and cold water pipes run vertically and connect to the shower valve. From there, a riser pipe carries water up to the shower arm, while another pipe directs it to the tub spout when the shower is not in use.
Emergency Shutoffs – These valves are typically located within an accessible area near the plumbing system, allowing for quick water shutoff in case of leaks or repairs.

Drainage System (Within the Walls and Below the Tub)
Drain Waste & Overflow – This component prevents water from overflowing by directing excess water through a vertical pipe within the wall, which then connects to the main drain system.
P-Trap – Located beneath the tub, the P-trap is a curved pipe designed to hold water, preventing sewer gases from entering the bathroom. Water from the tub or shower flows through this trap before joining the main drain line.
Drain Pipe Network – Behind the walls and beneath the floor, horizontal and vertical pipes transport wastewater away from the tub and shower, leading to the main household drain and ultimately to the sewer or septic system.
The water supply pipes are concealed within the walls, feeding into the shower valve, which then distributes water to either the showerhead or tub spout.
The drainage system includes an overflow drain within the walls, a P-trap below the tub, and waste pipes that transport used water away from the bathroom.
The combination of supply lines and drainage ensures efficient water flow while keeping plumbing components hidden within the structure of the walls and floor.

Relocation of four water heaters for four units, including a new all-electric heater. We had to relocate the gas lines, as well as all hot and cold water lines, replace the units, install new expansion tanks for the heaters, and pass all necessary inspections.

An expansion tank for a water heater is a small, pressurized tank that helps manage thermal expansion in a closed plumbing system. When water is heated, it expands, increasing pressure in the system. Without an expansion tank, this added pressure can strain pipes, fixtures, and the water heater itself, potentially leading to leaks or damage.

The expansion tank contains a rubber diaphragm that separates water from an air-filled chamber. As water expands, the air cushion absorbs the extra pressure, protecting the system and ensuring safe operation. Expansion tanks are often required by plumbing codes, especially when a system has a backflow preventer or pressure-reducing valve.

Over time, buildup from grease, soap, hair, and other debris can cause significant narrowing of the pipe, leading to slow drainage and potential blockages. Corrosion in metal pipes, like cast iron or galvanized steel, can make things even worse.
