An unexpected and delightful highlight this year, visiting Dan at his rooftop growing project in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn! Dan led me through his process and project, showing me his grow area, drying racks , seed enveloping and labeling, and ink drawings documenting the process made by collaborators. Love seeing a project like this consume someone’s life in the best way .

In his words it is a 300 sq ft fully annual (like a wall in New York full of graffiti that is buffed once a year by mother nature), from-seed, organic rooftop flower and produce garden. It utilizes biocontrol pest management of native species to promote the natural ecosystem being destroyed all around it; preparing for a post apocolyptic world where man works alongside mother nature while having fun doing it. Process is documented on film with the first annual report being released in march. Community focused always-free seed distribution which sent seeds to over 230 households across 43 states last year. So nice to meet you can’t wait to visit again in the Spring . And such a pleasure to have you at the Plant Sale this December, our first bicoastal entity!
