This garden, located on the Los Osos ‘banana belt,’ showcases how roses, herbs and veggies can be successfully grown near the coast. This custom Sage Landscapes installation built in 2024 has matured into a relaxing, peaceful and whimsical oasis.

These special garden spaces are loved and incredibly maintained by our dedicated client. Clients who engage with their garden gain a sense of accomplishment and are gifted with daily surprises, and a deeper connection to nature.

Sage Landscapes general manager Todd Davidson took part in the SERCAL conference in Fortuna this week.

The main topics were focused on meeting mitigation requirements under solar panels with natives that wildlife can browse on, benefits of low understory fire burns un forest that don’t reach the canopy, the importance of thinning the over thick secondary growth forests, erosion control with low tech approaches such as using brush and logs and green in gullys, etc.

He participated in a tour of the Wadulh dune restriction project in Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge, where salmonids are making it back to ancient creeks that were closed off from agriculture.
