Some chickens are elegant. Some chickens are graceful.
And then there's Frazzle Dazzle. πŸ˜‚
She wakes up every morning looking like she stuck a claw in an electrical outlet and decided to make it her entire personality. Between the wild crest, the fluffy feathers going in every direction, and the permanent look of mild annoyance, she's impossible not to love.
She's proof that not every bird has to be perfect to be special. In fact, the ones with the most character are usually the ones that steal your heart.
Frazzle Dazzle may not win any awards for looking put together, but she definitely wins for making me laugh every single day. 🀎

Sue may be small, but she has a big personality and somehow manages to steal the spotlight every time I take pictures. 🀎🀍
This Chocolate Mottled Silkie grow-out is developing beautifully, with a fluffy crest, lots of feathering, and mottling that's becoming more noticeable as she grows. One of my favorite things about Chocolate Mottled Silkies is watching their color continue to change and improve with age.
I can't wait to see what Sue looks like in a few more months. For now, she's content being adorable and making sure everyone knows it. πŸ₯°

Most hens wait until they have a whole nest full of eggs before they decide to go broody. Not this girl.
For whatever reason, she claimed exactly one egg and sat on it like it was the most important job in the world. She put all of her eggs in a basket (literally lol) and hatched that one egg 3 days ago. ❀️

She's not called Mama Jenny and put in charge of the grow-out pen for no reason. 😜
One egg. One chick. 100% hatch rate.

Some days I have to stop and remind myself how grateful I am for this project.

What started as a simple interest has turned into years of learning, planning, and working toward a vision. Seeing these little ones grow out and start showing the traits I've been hoping for makes all the ups and downs worth it.

They're ridiculously cute, full of personality, and I catch myself standing there watching them far longer than I should. 🀎

I can't wait to see how they continue to develop and, hopefully soon, share some of these sweet little fluff balls with others who appreciate them as much as I do.
