Our team was proud to host teachers for a tour of the new West Hardin Middle School, giving them a firsthand look at the progress on their future campus.

Walking through the building and seeing their excitement reinforced the importance of this project. WEHR is honored to have the opportunity to build a place where students learn, grow, and succeed for years to come. Join us in congratulating our June Employee of the Month, CJ Bennett! 🎉

In the words of our VP of Estimating, Chris Smyth, here is why he chose to nominate CJ:

“I want to highlight what a young man CJ Bennett is.
Recently, CJ and I were going to lunch when we came upon a bad car accident at the corner of Bunsen and Plantside. As we pulled around the wreck, one driver was distraught and screaming. CJ immediately said, “Pull over, I think she said a kid is trapped in the car.” We jumped out of the truck and ran over to assist. Before I knew it, CJ was tearing the back door open and diving into the back seat. It was a grown man without his seatbelt on who was thrown into the back seat, and he was unconscious.

CJ was incredible. He worked with the EMT to get the man back into the front seat so the EMT could work on him. He only regained consciousness for a short time. Soon, EMS arrived and we moved out of their way but on the way home, CJ called to let me know he called to check on the man. He was in the hospital, still unconscious.

This young man lives the WEHR Way both inside and outside of work, and he is working hard every day here at work to grow. I’m proud of him and wanted to acknowledge his character.”
