Doing storm work.

I’ve got nothing against making a profit. I am in business after all. But some of the numbers I’m hearing to stand a riser back up and replace a weather and meter socket has been on the ridiculous side.

Even with emergency rates, you shouldn’t be paying more than about $1000-1200 for this work.

Get quotes. I know it’s stressful, and you just want your power back on, but don’t spend a ton of money you don’t have to.

High winds a possibility.

This is your reminder that comed will not fix wiring attached to your house. If your line comes down, you’ll be responsible for getting it put back up before they’ll reconnect you.

You’ll need a qualified electrician to perform this task. We’d be happy to do it. Reach out if you have any electrical needs. Don’t touch anything. We’ll take care of it.

There is a possibility of some fairly bad weather coming in tonight. Storms and high winds.

Here’s what you need to know if your power line is pulled down by a tree.

ComEd only services from THEIR pole to your weatherhead, or connection at a pole on your property.

If your line comes down, ComEd will come out and disconnect their drop and make it safe. Then it is your responsibility to call an electrician to restore everything to code on your house/pole. Then, and only then will ComEd come back out and restore power.

This is not common knowledge, and it can be expensive.

We are available for emergency work, 24/7. If your line comes down, we’ll get it fixed for you ASAP.

Stay safe, and call the professionals.
