The state is a major importer of fracking wastewater, which gets pumped underground but doesn’t always stay there. The city of Marietta is fighting back.

Dr. Jeffery, Marietta College Geologist on the injection well situation near Marietta:

"There seems to be an inability to face the fact that there is a catastrophic escape of the waste — indicating a total failure of the fracking waste injection program.

The governor should declare a state of emergency in the impacted part of Washington County.

Washington County is sounding the alarm. Columbus needs to listen — before our drinking water is tainted by toxic waste.

Stop the injection. Lower the pressure. Protect the aquifers. Do it now."

After the 8” break last night that dropped the tanks to low level, we are now refilling them. This sudden drop caused the sediment in the bottom of tank to stir up and get into main lines. When filling a 150,000 gallon tank it’s moves the water around quite a bit. With this being said you may experience dirty looking water. We will be flushing tomorrow to try to flush out the sediment. Please be patient with us. Thanks!!
