It's the most magical time of the year and there are a lot of festive events in our city again this year!
Saturday, December 13th will feature several events...
Christmas in the Woods - 1 to 4 PM at Kotecki Park - Lower Burrell Parks & Recreation will again be hosting a family friendly afternoon in the park to kick off the festivities. There will be carolers, food trucks, a bake sale, photo ops, crafts, games and more. Shuttles will be provided free of charge to and from Bon Air Elementary.
Christmas Parade - 7 PM from Stewart Elementary to Bon Air Elementary - Join us for the Fourth Annual Christmas Parade. This is the third straight year in which the parade will take place at night. There will be plenty of organizations throwing candy and, as always, a special appearance from Santa Claus! Please note that the parade will run the traditional parade route from Stewart to Bon Air (unlike past year's that we have gone toward Stewart).
Bon Air Festivities - Post Parade - Bon Air Elementary - The Bon Air PTA will be hosting cookies and hot chocolate in the cafeteria at Bon Air immediately following the parade. This is a great way to warm up after the parade and enjoy some snacks. There may be a vendor or two there as well.
Please Note: With the uncertainly of Stewart Elementary, the decision was made long ago to move the parade route back to our standard route (starting at Stewart). The Stewart tree will still be decorated and lit this year but there will be no formal tree lighting ceremony this year. Plans are underway for a permanent solution at Bon Air Elementary moving forward.
In addition to the December 13th events, remember that tonight is the start of Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company #3's two nights of bringing Santa thru a significant chunk of the city. I posted the route yesterday. In addition, next Thursday (December 11th), Lower Burrell VFC No. 1 will be bringing Santa thru the Kinloch portion of the city.
