🏠❄️ ICE DAMS: A SMALL ROOF PROBLEM THAT CAN LEAD TO BIG DAMAGE! ❄️🏠

As temperatures drop here in Michigan, ice dams can become a serious problem for homeowners.

But did you know ice dams often start with heat escaping into your attic? 🔥

Here’s how it happens:
🔹 Heat escapes through inadequate insulation or air leaks.
🔹 Snow melts on the warmer portion of your roof.
🔹 Water runs down to the colder roof edge and freezes.
🔹 Ice builds up, trapping water that can work its way beneath your shingles and into your home.

⚠️ The result? Water stains, peeling paint, damaged insulation, and costly interior repairs.

✅ Prevention starts with proper attic insulation, adequate ventilation, and sealing air leaks. Keeping gutters and soffit vents clear can also help maintain proper airflow.

Don't wait until water starts dripping through your ceiling! Small issues now can cause BIG problems later!
