Here are four points that resonate with lawn care business owners because they're often overlooked:

1. You'll spend more time finding customers than mowing.

Most people think success comes from owning great equipment. In reality, marketing, answering calls, giving estimates, following up, and earning reviews take up a huge part of your week.

2. Your body takes a beating.

Working in extreme heat, lifting equipment, trimming, edging, and blowing debris day after day is physically demanding. If you don't prioritize hydration, stretching, and recovery, burnout can happen quickly.

3. Cash flow can be unpredictable.

Rain delays, equipment breakdowns, slow-paying customers, and seasonal changes can all affect your income. Having an emergency fund and sticking to profitable pricing makes a big difference.

4. Not every customer is worth keeping.

Some customers constantly negotiate prices, pay late, or expect extra work for free. Learning to say "no" and focusing on dependable, respectful customers is one of the biggest keys to building a profitable business.

This ain’t no hobby 🫡 I’m always posting pictures of striped lawns. Well, because not only is it awesome I firmly believe that if the lawn is on the correct chemical schedule and cut with sharp blades stripes become a regular occurrence. Yes, the proper mower has a lot to do with it. I run 4 Walker Mowers on the regular. Why? It’s simple! The decks are out front and float with the terrain yielding an unbeatable cut. Nothing in the industry cuts like them. Nothing! I’ll share with you each model number.
