A basic 4-inch slab typically costs around $5 to $8 per sq. ft., while a 6-inch reinforced slab for garages and heavier loads can run $7 to $12 per sq. ft. The final price also depends on site preparation, reinforcement, regional labor rates, and the finish you choose.

Before the pour, confirm the exact footprint, thickness, drainage, and anchor requirements with your building manufacturer. Fixing a slab after it has cured is much harder than getting the specifications right from the start.

Thinking about building an indoor basketball court? Start with how you plan to use it.

A home half-court typically requires a 50x50-foot building with at least 20 ft. of clearance. A full court needs considerably more room, with footprints starting around 60x100 ft. and ceiling heights of 22–24 ft.

You’ll also need to plan for flooring, lighting, insulation, ventilation, and enough open space for safe play. A clear-span metal building can provide the wide, post-free interior that the game requires, and the space can double as a pickleball court, volleyball court, or home gym.
